Work begins on Spirometry

Thursday 19th February 2004

'Spirometry' is the latest addition to the respiratory series. Spirometry is rarely performed outside specialist respiratory units yet it is essential for the monitoring of respiratory disease and to aid diagnosis (e.g. in COPD). The wide spread use of spirometry is essential to improve respiratory care.

'Spirometry' will cover in detail associated respiratory diseases, what spirometry actually measures, how to perform spirometry, patient examples, assessment and spirometers.

Christopher O'Callaghan, the author of the highly acclaimed 'Paediatric Respiratory Examination' CD-ROM, has returned as the author of 'Spirometry'.
