The lectures may be stopped and started at any point using a simple navigation system to allow discussion making them an ideal teaching aid. Running a major symposium with lectures prepared in such a multimedia book format, prior to the event, would allow the lecturer to be heard even if his plane had been cancelled.
Uniquely the lectures have been peer reviewed and numerous animations and video clips added to enhance the presentation. Pictures, animations and video clips are synchronised with the lecture so they appear at exactly the right moment. This has the effect of maintaining the interest of the viewer with the lectures being particularly suitable for general practitioners, junior doctors, nurses and medical students.
