[top]Filming & Editing
From the very beginning OCB Media has focussed on acquiring an extensive video collection of clinical signs and symptoms from hospitals across the UK. In recent years the scope of this video archive has grown to include surgery, procedures and 'scripted' scenarios. Specialist video archives include Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, ENT, Laparoscopic procedures and Ophthalmology.
OCB Media has a broad range of equipment and skills allowing us to fulfil any filming requirement. Using digital recording decks, feeds from 'scopes, scanners and visualisation equipment can also be captured and combined with live footage. In house video editing facilities combined with professional voice and audio production allows us to rapidly produce broadcast quality video material.
- Online streaming video
- Surgical environment filming
- Scope and scanner interfacing
- Patient consenting protocols
- Digital archiving and backup
- Post processing and manipulation
- Professional audio narration

Animation
The use of conceptual 2D animations with 3D anatomy and physiology is one of the cornerstones of OCB Media's approach to medical education development. Recent outputs include the 3D reconstruction of surgical procedures, medical device modelling and emulation, conceptualisation of physiological processes and pharmacological interactions. Storyboards and animatics allow us to work efficiently in collaboration with healthcare professionals to develop new cutting edge animations.
OCB Media also has a wealth of experience in working with device manufacturers and the pharmaceutical industry to produce technical animations as well as marketing and promotional materials.
- Realistic or stylised animations
- Complex anatomical modelling and animation
- Photo-real renderings of device CAD files
- Animation tailored for public or professional audiences
- Visualisation of airflow, drug action and anatomy
- High resolution stills, stereo images, and animations

[top]Medical Illustration
High quality medical and general illustration is a cornerstone of our educational output. Whether simple conceptual 2D line drawings or stereoscopic 3D anatomical illustrations, we look to include extensive illustrative material in all learning packages in order to improve and enhance the learning experience. As well as a large archive of existing illustrations, OCB Media can also produce illustrations to order, typically within 48 hours.
We also have significant experience in blending 3D generated models of, for example, surgical instruments and equipment, with hand drawn medical illustrations to provide unique points of view for the learner. These can also be overlaid on clinical and surgical video material, particularly to aid in the training of procedures and surgical interventions. The relationship between medical illustration and animation can also be taken one step further, with the production of ‘cartoons’, particularly for use in the explanation of physiological processes.
